Art Madness : Not your kiddie marker

I have always wanted to be an artist. Of some sort. But the course I took definitely had nothing to do with art. So I was left with an empty heart, buying all the art crap I can see. It definitely started way back, back to my childhood days. Whenever we go to the ever so grand National Bookstore I just have to buy something. Something to write on, something to glue on, a pen, glitter, etc. Kind of like a bottomless pit, you can never really fill it up and now I present you with the surviving, yet still growing members of my wanna be artsy life.

These are just some of the pens and coloring materials. But the reason why I am blogging this is that I want to share to you my new addiction. Markers. But they are not your ordinary childhood markers. These markers are the "adult markers" they truly costs a lot more and has a diverse color selection, and I mean by the hundreds! Do you have any idea how much these costs!? I for one was shocked. But if you are studying something related to art like Interior design, Architecture or fashion, you might actually need this. So if you are new to it here is an idea of how much they go for and where you can get them.

I will start from highest to lowest price:

COPIC MARKERS (cost P 240.00 each)

Copic markers are made in Japan. Since most of us have our smart phones with us all the time. You can go to the website of Copic Markers, scroll to the bottom of the page where you can get the pdf file of their 2013 Copic Catalog to get whole she bang. There you can see the different sets that they have and what colors they come in. It can be a handy tool for you when you are out buying on impulse or it can be used at home to give you an idea on what colors you are gonna get when you go out, so that you wont look like a fool standing there for hours thinking of what to actually get.

Total number of colors : 358 color chart.

Quick tip : You can actually call ahead of time (it never really hurts to ask) and check on the branch you are going to and ask if they have the color you want

In the Philippines, Copic markers are sold by greattoysonline stores and they have 4 branches. You can also buy them online at greattoysonline.com. They also have a provincial service if you do not live with in Metro Manila, you just have to text them :)

ZIG KURECOLOR MARKERS ( P 138.00-150.00)

Like Copic markers Kurecolor is also made in Japan. If you want an idea on what type of markers they have and what colors are available here is a Zig Markers pdf file. Again if you are in the Philippines Kurecolor can be bought from several stores like Joli's, National Bookstore and Deovir. But as expected, not all their products are available here.
